Proper maintenance of your electronic cigarette is essential not only for its smooth operation, but also for its longevity over time. Over time, the materials that make up your e-cig can deteriorate. What causes this? First of all, the components of your e-liquid (mono-propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine) are dirty and greasy, and therefore liable to clog the reservoir - also known as the clearomizer. Secondly, dust will quickly find its way into the small nooks and crannies of your box.
Your electronic cigarette is made up of: a box, connectors, a tank, a drip tip and batteries if you don't have an integrated battery. All these parts need regular attention.
The box is covered with little nooks and crannies where dust likes to sneak in. To clean it, don't use water, as this could damage your e-cig's electronic circuitry. However, you can use a microfiber cloth or wipe, very lightly moistened, for the box itself. For nooks and crannies (around buttons, screw threads, charger insert), use a small, fine brush.
For those of you with battery-powered electronic cigarettes, we strongly recommend recharging them via a specific charger, rather than the box's connector, to increase their lifespan. What's more, it's best to protect them with wraps, and to move and store them in silicone covers. As soon as you see rust appearing on your battery, recycle it. Rust is harmful to the box's operation.
Your tank quickly becomes clogged. To avoid this, we recommend you clean it regularly, for example every time you change your resistor. Unscrew and completely empty your clearo, remove your resistor and let's get started.
Once the tank is completely empty, rinse it under clear, cold or lukewarm water. Then use washing-up liquid or bicarbonate of soda to remove impurities. Be sure to rinse thoroughly. Finally, wipe with paper towels and leave to dry for 24 hours for best results.
Take the opportunity to check the seals and clean them under clear water. And if they're damaged, it's time to change them. If they're damaged, you'll soon notice leaks.
If your reservoir cannot be dismantled, you can clean it with a cotton bud or a cloth soaked in alcohol. Make sure you wipe it clean and do not rinse it with water. This could cause short-circuits.
The drip-tip is the little mouthpiece you insert into your mouth when you inhale. This small part is exposed to dust, humidity, bacteria, saliva and dead skin. It's essential to clean it every day. To remove dirt, rinse with clean water and use a small brush. A clean toothbrush will do. Remember to disinfect it thoroughly every week with a baking soda or white vinegar bath.
Don't forget to take care of the base of your tank, too, with a damp cloth or wipe. But also the airflows and chimney! These two components are under constant stress. If your electronic cigarette can be completely disassembled, it's advisable to run these two components under clear, high-flow water for a few minutes to clean them properly. Then dry them on absorbent paper. If you have a monobloc vaporizer, it will be more complicated to scour them in their entirety.
Priming your e-cigarette's resistance is essential.

Read moreMost electronic cigarettes are made up of the same components: a battery (either built-in or rechargeable), a "fire" button to operate your cigarette and draw in steam, the tank containing the resistance and eliquids, and the drip tip, the little mouthpiece on which we place our lips.
