Choosing your first e-liquid is just as important as choosing your first vape, if not more so.
Indeed, very often, a first-time vaper becomes one with the aim of quitting smoking, so it's vital to choose your first e-liquid carefully so as not to fall back into the ways of cigarettes.
Do you want to rediscover the sensations of tobacco when you vape, or do you want to get away from it?
For the first option, you'll have a wide choice in the "Classic" typology. You can select your flavor according to your former smoking habits.
For example:
- If you used to smoke light or blond cigarettes, choose a blond classic e-liquid with a light taste.
- If you smoke dark cigarettes or roll-your-own tobacco, go for a brown classic, more or less spicy depending on the tobacco you smoke.
- And if you prefer mentholated cigarettes, then a mint classic will do the trick.
If you're afraid you won't be able to get enough of your combustion cigarettes, classic flavors can be adapted to gourmet tastes. You can find "blond tobacco with a hint of caramel" juices, for example, or vanilla tobaccos. There's a second option.
If you want to get as far away from the sensations of tobacco as possible, then you have a wide choice from the following families:
- Fruity flavors: all fruits are present in these e liquids, either on their own or mixed with others to create delicious compositions.
- Floral flavors: discover a thousand colors of flowers for a flowery, flavor-filled vape.
- Savory flavors: much more original, but ideal for vaping as an aperitif or when you're feeling a bit peckish.
- Gourmet flavors: as the name suggests, a wide range of viennoiseries and other pastries are represented in this typology, so there's something for every taste.
- Custard flavors: all recipes in this category are topped with the vanilla flavor of custard cream.
- Menthol flavors: fresh mint, peppermint, spearmint, icy mint, all add a sensation of extreme freshness to your e liquids, whether fruity, gourmet or classic.
- Drink flavors: if you want to vape your favorite cocktails or juices, select a product from this family.
- Candy flavors: ideal for satisfying sweet cravings.
As you can see, the choice of flavour depends on what you want. The most important thing is to indulge yourself, and to make sure that these juices don't make you go back to traditional cigarettes.
But beyond defining your taste, it's important to know the composition of the base of your e-liquid.
Your e-liquid is composed of 4 elements. The flavoring, which we've just been talking about, nicotine (if you use it) - an important subject we'll come to later - vegetable mono-propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine.
These last two ingredients make up the base of an e-liquid.
The proportion of each of these two components is decisive, depending on whether you prefer a powerful hit with enhanced flavor, or a less powerful hit with plenty of vapor. The higher the MPVG content, the more intense the hit in the throat, but also the more aromas. On the other hand, the higher the VG content, the lower the hit, but the e-liquid will produce larger clouds of vapor.
To start with, we recommend a PG/VG ratio of 50/50 for a balance between flavor, vapor and hit.
It's very important to match your e-liquid to your equipment.
An article on resistances is online on our blog, which you can read to better understand the importance of adapting your liquid to your equipment.
When it comes to nicotine, there are two criteria to consider.
First, you need to choose the type of nicotine. There's classic nicotine and nicotine salt. For those of you who need a high level of nicotine, we recommend nicotine salt. This nicotine salt contains benzoic acid, which stabilizes the nicotine in the e-liquid. This results in a higher concentration, so the nicotine is absorbed more quickly by the body, and the sensation is closer to that of a burning cigarette.
What's more, you'll need to choose your nicotine level. This depends on your dependence and your habits as a former smoker.
These are, of course, indicative averages, so it's advisable to start with two e liquids and therefore two different nicotine levels, in order to perfectly meet your needs.
Over time, you'll be able to begin nicotine withdrawal, gradually reducing nicotine levels from 1mg/ml to 1mg/ml. This is a non-frustrating method, because the reduction is so small that the brain and body don't have time to notice.
If you don't smoke, don't vape.
