They started out in Santa Cruz as a small boutique. Customers could come and learn about perfumery and chemistry through sessions where they could test as many fragrances as they wished. TPA still offers perfumery classes in California, where their students design their own scents. In 2009, they founded a food and vapor creation branch called The Flavor Apprentice. Today, they have over 250 flavors and concentrates of all types.
