Vape like you smoke

As we could see in our article about nicotine, its molecule is still the same but the ingestion mode can have a great influence of the consumer feeling. When smoking a traditional cigarette, the smoker takes a "shot" of nicotine that reaches the brain in a matter of seconds. With e-cigarettes, nicotine takes longer to reach the receptors.

On a combustion cigarette, you tend to pull harder and faster, but when you vape, it's better to pull slowly and longer with each puff. This helps you get your nicotine fill. Another piece of advice we can give you is to vape more regularly but for shorter periods of time.

Smoke in the same time

When you start vaping, you will, without necessarily realizing it, reduce the number of cigarettes you use every day. The first that will disappear of your everyday life, will be the one you smoke "on the go". Not really to compensate for a need, but more because you've got a bit of time to kill, in the car for a 10-minute journey, or when you're waiting for someone to arrive in 5 minutes.

It's important to understand that everyone is different when it comes to nicotine, and that the different ways of quitting work in the same way. The substitute, or the doses at which it is used, will be an important factor in quitting smoking. Some people will still need to smoke traditional cigarettes for some time after switching to vape. It's important not to get stuck in this habit, and to treat it as a transitional period. However, health professionals advise you to stop smoking combustible cigarettes altogether if you switch to vape. The further you get from the memory of your last cigarette, the easier it will be to stay on the right track.

Get hydrated !

When you vape, you produce steam most of which comes from the e-liquid that passes over your resistance into your atomizer. But a part of this steam also comes from your body, precisely from your pulmonary system and your mouth. If you don't hydrate properly as you are vaping, it can lead to headaches or even nausea. Remain vigilant in this regard.

Use a nicotine rate to low

It's important to remember that the nicotine content of a classic cigarette averages between 20 and 25g/ml of nicotine. So when you switch to vape, don't make the mistake that many people do by using liquids with too low a nicotine content. You'll soon be tempted to go back to conventional smoking to compensate for the lack of nicotine.

You can tell very quickly if you've too low by your e-liquid consumption. If you notice that your vape is still grafted to your hand and you're passing a lot of e-liquid every day, you're probably too low on nicotine.

In Bar à Diy, we offer adjustable rate in 1mg/ml increments, from 0 to 14mg/ml of nicotine. This will enable you to gradually reduce your nicotine dose, so that you can wean yourself off nicotine smoothly without experiencing cravings. If you start from 14mg/ml and drop by 1mg/ml each month, you'll be completely free of nicotine dependance in just over a year.
