Flavors are one of the key elements that make e-liquids attractive to vapers. They offer a wide variety of flavors to personalize the vape experience.

What is the role and impact of flavors on the vaping experience? ?

• Flavor diversity in e-liquids

Flavors can be simple or complex. When they are simple, we call them mono-aromas, composed of a single aroma, such as strawberry, peach, grape, spearmint... • The importance of aromas in the vape experience

Several studies are looking for proving the significance of the aromas in tobacco withdrawal.

Firstly, a study led by Dr. Farsalinos in 2013 and reread in 2016, highlighted the following facts :

- 3 types of aromas were frequently used.

- The classic ones were the most bought to then hand over to the Fruity and sugary ones.

- The participants said that the diversity in the choice of aromas were very important

- More than 50% confirmed that diminishing this variety would be very harmful in their effort to quit smoking.

In 2023, a new study was led by 8 MRC researchers in United Kingdom. There were 1214 participants, among them 61% were women, the average age was 39 and they used to smoke 18 cigarettes a day.

To be known : In Great Britain, 35% of the attempt to quit smoking are made with the electronic cigarette. After 6 months, the accomplishment rate was 2 times better than the nicotine gum or patchs.

Let's c back to the study. After 4 weeks of abstinence, the results show that the choice of aromas with advices and support from other vapers, were the perfect match. Indeed, 25% of success for the participants who received both.

• What about today ?

While many countries are forbidding the aromas other than classic, and that the ecig is still stigmatized by anti-vape groups and governments, what is the future of aromas in Europe and more specifically in France ?

A lot of discussions among our government are set. Must they put more taxes ? Must they forbid the aromas ?

The future is not certain, even though the vapers yell that aromas are essential for their tobacco withdrawal.
